Ceramic Tiles
Images of Jizo for Peaceful Places

Artist's Statement
I am a self-taught ceramic artist, a tile maker. I draw my creative inspiration from my varied and well-traveled past. I have always been curious to know the true inception of all religions, and deeply fascinated by the venerated enlightened ones around the world. I started making sacred symbols for peaceful places in the year 2000. I love having their images around me, working with them and bringing them to life on a tile.
I have the great good fortune to have an exceptional friendship with Richard Kirsten-Daiensai. He, above all others, brought my artistic expression to the surface by his belief in me, his letters of encouragemant, and his kind heart. Daiensai gave me a Japanese "Gago" - an artist name - Shinrei - on May 26, 2002, in the Uchuji Zen Temple, in Japan, on his yearly pilgrimage. I am eternally grateful to him for all his love and support over the last 15 years.
I am delighted to make these emanations in clay, for this work is a blissful meditation, and I truly hope they bring peace, love, and joy to your Sacred Space.
